Paula Radcliffe’s Families on Track

Saturday - 9.45am & 13.00pm

Paula Radcliffe is a vocal advocate for family health and fitness and her concept of “Families on Track” encompasses everything she believes in as a runner…but more importantly as a mum! This new exciting event offers an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy a safe, fun and competitive event as a unit together. Mum, Dad. Kids, Grandparents, and other family members complete the 10km distance as a continuous relay, in whichever order or combination they decide upon. This offers a unique concept of adults and children running together, embracing exercise, but in a fun race format that can include everyone, no matter what age or ability.

RUNNING ROUTES

Running Routes curated by Steve Cram

Steve Cram is a legend of the athletics track and during the 1980s was one of the world's dominant middle distance runners. Affectionately known to the nation as 'The Jarrow Arrow', Steve won 1500m gold at the 1983 World Championships and 1500m silver at the 1984 Olympics and set world records in the 1500m, 2000m and the mile all within 19 days of each other in 1985.

As well as being one of RunFestRun's esteemed Team Captains, Steve is also founder and co-director of Events of the North alongside his partner, fellow former British athlete Allison Curbishley. Between them, they organise a host of notable races across the north of England including the Active Northumberland Kielder Marathon and Sunderland City Runs.

For RunFestRun 2020, Crammy has carefully curated all of the weekend’s running routes. The other Team Captains are suspicious that this insider information might give him a head start in beating their times… but we couldn’t be more thrilled that our resident race expert and King Bee has planned the challenging, captivating and exhilarating routes for all of our RunFestRunners.

We cannot wait for round two!

RunFestRun 2020 will play host to a range of timed and non-timed running routes and races, all set to the backdrop of beautiful views.

With winding routes and simply stunning scenery, we can't wait to set up camp and cover some serious ground during the festival - it's set to be yet another truly unmissable weekend!

There really is something for every ability, whether you're lacing up your trainers for the first time or coming along to put months of training into action for a PB.
