COVID SECURE PLANS FOR RUNFESTRUN 2021

The organisers of RunFestRun have proven success in creating pioneering, COVID 19 secure events throughout summer 2020 and into 2021. From Drive In Cinemas to Garden Party restaurants, we’ve hosted over 60,000 visitors in a COVID safe and compliant environment, making us one of the UK’s leading and most experienced organisers in COVID safe consumer events.

When planning Covid-secure events, we focus on the following areas: Visitor experience, Event Specific Activities and Event Management.

SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

During these challenging times, our priority is to ensure the safety of our visitors, artists, exhibitors and staff whilst providing the best visitor experience possible. We continuously monitor all government advice and regulations daily to ensure that the experience we provide complies with all regulations and offers a risk-free entertainment experience for all guests.

All plans are compliant with The Purple Guide’s COVID-19 Supplementary Guidance and UKA, Sport England and Government guidelines at the time of the event.

HOW WE ARE MANAGING THE EVENT IN A COVID COMPLIANT WAY:

MORE SPACE & MORE CLEANING:

  • Larger spaces will be allocated to areas where we expect crowds to gather and staff to monitor these areas to encourage social distancing. These areas include the viewing area in front of our stages, start and finish lines of the runs, and entry and exit points.
  • An increase in site cleaning of the site seating areas and toilets will be carried out throughout the show open period across the entire weekend.
  • One-way lanes will be signposted and marked out around our shopping village area to ensure customer and exhibitor safety.

OUR STAFF:

  • All staff working will be required to wear PPE throughout the duration of the event. PPE includes face covering and gloves. PPE will be disposed of after every session and new PPE collected.
  • Exhibitors will be advised to wear face-covering but it will not be mandatory because the event is outdoors.

EVENT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES – RUNNING:

  • Races are organised by Events of The North and will adhere to all UKA, Sport England and Government guidelines at the time of the event.
  • There will be no more than 3 races each day over varying distances at RunFestRun 2021. This will ensure the safe completion of each event before the next one begins and also still allows you to participate in multiple events if you so wish.
  • If required, social distancing will be observed before, during and at the end of each race. This will be achieved using designated waves, larger assembly areas and a dynamic finish area to avoid congregation.
  • All runners will be asked to be as “self-sufficient” as possible, however, we are pleased to let you know that drinks and feed stations will be operating but on a non-contact basis.
  • All races will require pre-event registration to enable distribution of wave allocation, either individually or for allowed groupings.
  • A detailed race pack will be available to all runners prior to the event, including all relevant race information, guidelines and route maps. This makes sure you guys can be as prepared as we are!

YOUR FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE:

Overall, we will be operating the event across a much larger footprint, increasing circulation space and reducing pinch points to ensure socially distancing rules can be maintained at all times. So if you have a ticket already - awesome! There aren't that many left!

LIVE MUSIC:

  • You can still enjoy the music! All stage viewing areas will be divided into viewing pods for you and your group. You will be asked to choose a pod for your group and to keep to the same pod when viewing the stage throughout your time at the event.
  • We advise that you do not congregate in front of the main stage but to stick to your pod.

CAMPSITE & PARKING:

  • The campsite will be divided into pitches to comply with socially distanced guidelines, allowing for 35m2 per pitch, and each campsite pitch will have direct access to a fire lane, with all of you festival goers being asked to stay within your own bay.
  • Parking access and egress will be managed through scheduled arrival times, with ample space within the car parks and access points to socially distance.

CONTACTLESS TICKETING:

  • We will be ensuring that a contactless ticket system is in place and requires minimum contact on entry to RunFestRun.

TOILETS, SHOWERS & WASHING STATIONS:

  • Increased levels of toilets will be provided across all areas of the site, with increased regularity of cleaning and servicing. Queuing systems will control and manage social distancing to and from the facilities.
  • Shower use and access will be controlled through socially distanced queue management, increased cleaning, separate changing areas, and controlled capacities within the shower complex.
  • Hand wash facilities will be available throughout the festival site. Sinks with fresh running water at each toilet location will also be available.

GENERAL:

  • Frequent signage will be installed throughout the event space to alert everybody to be mindful of social distancing and to help navigate around the site.
  • In areas where we expect queuing, i.e. at the entrance to the event, points will be marked on the ground to show you where to stand.
  • Standing zones will be marked in front of exhibitor stands to ensure that only one bubble of visitors can access the stand at any one time.
  • Once data has been collected, the organisers may decide to allocate specific time slots to our visitors.
